How do I set up RemoteX with my TV?
- Make sure your phone and TV are connected to the same WiFi network
- Open RemoteX and go to the Devices tab
- Tap "Scan for TVs" - the app will automatically discover compatible TVs
- Tap on your TV to connect
- If prompted, accept the pairing request on your TV screen
Do I need to create an account?
No, an account is optional. You can use RemoteX without creating an account. However, creating an account allows you to:
- Sync your subscription across multiple devices
- Backup your device settings to the cloud
- Access priority support
Is RemoteX free?
Yes! RemoteX offers a free tier that lets you control 1 TV with basic remote functions. For unlimited TVs and premium features like touchpad mode and app launching, you can upgrade to RemoteX Pro. See our pricing page for details.

Which TV brands does RemoteX support?
RemoteX supports most major smart TV brands including:
- Samsung - Smart TVs (2016 and newer)
- LG - webOS TVs
- Sony - Android TV / Google TV models
- Android TV - All brands (TCL, Hisense, Xiaomi, etc.)
- Roku - Roku TVs and streaming devices
- Fire TV - Amazon Fire TV Sticks and Cubes
- Chromecast - Chromecast with Google TV
- Apple TV - Apple TV 4K and HD
- Philips - Android TV models
- Vizio - SmartCast TVs
Does RemoteX work with older TVs?
RemoteX requires a smart TV with network connectivity. Older TVs without WiFi or smart features are not supported. The TV must be:
- Connected to your home WiFi network
- A supported smart TV platform (see list above)
- Have remote control APIs enabled (usually on by default)
Can I use RemoteX with a projector?
Yes, if your projector runs Android TV, Fire TV, or Roku, RemoteX should work with it. Smart projectors from brands like Nebula, XGIMI, and BenQ are often compatible.
Does it work with soundbars?
RemoteX is designed for TVs and streaming devices. Soundbars that have their own smart platform (like Roku soundbars) may be partially supported. For best results, control volume through your TV.
🔗 Connection Issues
My TV isn't being discovered. What should I do?
Try these troubleshooting steps:
- Same network: Ensure your phone and TV are on the exact same WiFi network (not guest network)
- TV is on: The TV must be powered on (not just standby mode)
- Restart both: Restart your TV and try scanning again
- Check TV settings: Some TVs have "IP Control" or "Remote Start" settings that need to be enabled
- Firewall: Check if your router has AP isolation enabled (blocks devices from seeing each other)
If still not working, try adding your TV manually by IP address.
Connection keeps dropping. How do I fix this?
- Move closer to your WiFi router
- Check for WiFi interference from other devices
- Try using 5GHz WiFi instead of 2.4GHz if available
- Ensure your TV's firmware is up to date
- Restart your WiFi router
Do I need to keep the app open?
The app needs to be open to send commands. However, the connection stays active in the background for a short time, so you can quickly switch back and continue controlling your TV.
Can I control my TV from outside my home?
No, RemoteX only works when your phone is connected to the same local network as your TV. This is a security feature to prevent unauthorized access to your TV.

What is Touchpad mode?
Touchpad mode turns your phone screen into a trackpad, similar to a laptop touchpad. You can swipe to move the cursor on your TV, tap to select, and use gestures for scrolling. This is especially useful for web browsers and smart TV apps. Available in RemoteX Pro.
Can I type on my TV using my phone keyboard?
Yes! When you need to type on your TV (like entering a search query), use the keyboard button in RemoteX. You can type using your phone's keyboard, which is much faster than using the TV's on-screen keyboard.
Can I launch Netflix/YouTube directly?
Yes, RemoteX Pro includes app shortcuts for popular streaming services. You can launch Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Prime Video, and more with a single tap. Available apps depend on your TV platform.
Does voice control work?
Voice input for text fields is supported through your phone's keyboard. Direct voice commands to the TV (like "Hey Google") depend on your TV's capabilities and may not be available through RemoteX.

How do I start a free trial?
Open RemoteX and go to Settings → Upgrade to Pro. Select any plan to start your 7-day free trial. You can cancel anytime before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
How do I cancel my subscription?
On iOS: Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions → RemoteX → Cancel
On Android: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → RemoteX → Cancel
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not directly by us. You can request a refund through:
- Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com
- Google: Play Store → Account → Order history → Request refund
Does my subscription work on multiple devices?
Yes! When you sign in with your account, your Pro subscription syncs across all your devices (both iOS and Android).
What's included in the Lifetime purchase?
The Lifetime purchase is a one-time payment that gives you access to all Pro features forever, including all future updates. No recurring charges, ever.

How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app, or visit our Delete Account page. This will permanently remove all your data.
How do I change my email?
Currently, you cannot change your email directly. Please contact support for assistance with email changes.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password" and enter your email. You'll receive a password reset link. If you signed up with Google, simply use "Continue with Google" to sign in.
