🔧 Troubleshooting Guide

TV Not Found During Scan

1

Check WiFi Connection

Ensure both your phone and TV are connected to the same WiFi network. Guest networks or different bands (2.4GHz vs 5GHz) may prevent discovery.

2

Power Cycle Your TV

Turn off your TV completely (not just standby), wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on. Try scanning again.

3

Enable Network Features on TV

Some TVs have settings that need to be enabled:

  • Samsung: Settings → General → External Device Manager → Device Connect Manager → Access Notification → On
  • LG: Settings → Connection → Mobile Connection → TV On With Mobile → On
  • Sony: Settings → Network → Remote Start → On
  • Android TV: Usually enabled by default
4

Try Manual Connection

If automatic discovery doesn't work, add your TV manually:

  1. Find your TV's IP address in its network settings
  2. In RemoteX, tap "Add Device Manually"
  3. Enter the IP address and select your TV brand
5

Check Router Settings

Some routers have "AP Isolation" or "Client Isolation" enabled, which prevents devices from seeing each other. Check your router settings and disable this feature.

Buttons Not Working

1

Re-pair Your TV

Go to Devices → tap your TV → Disconnect, then reconnect. Accept any pairing prompts on your TV screen.

2

Check TV Status

Make sure your TV is on and not in standby mode. Some buttons only work when the TV is fully powered on.

3

Update RemoteX

Make sure you have the latest version of RemoteX from the App Store or Google Play.

Connection Drops Frequently

1

Improve WiFi Signal

Weak WiFi can cause disconnections. Move closer to your router or consider using a WiFi extender.

2

Use 5GHz WiFi

If available, connect both devices to your 5GHz network for better performance and less interference.

3

Disable Battery Optimization

On Android, go to Settings → Apps → RemoteX → Battery → Don't optimize. This prevents the system from closing the app in the background.
